The increased lift on the lower wing creates a restoring moment that pushes the wing back up toward the horizontal position. Simultaneously, the higher wing experiences a smaller effective angle of attack and produces less lift. This imbalance of lift automatically levels the wings, correcting the roll without pilot input. In essence, the dihedral angle uses the aircraft&#x27;s sideways movement to create aerodynamic forces that naturally return the wings to a stable, level flight attitude.
