What are the key elements to verify the grounding and insulation in the electrical systems?

Key elements to verify grounding and insulation in electrical systems include visual inspections, continuity testing, and insulation resistance testing. Visual inspections check for damaged wiring, loose connections, and proper grounding connections. Continuity testing confirms a low-resistance path to ground from all non-current-carrying metal parts, ensuring that fault current can safely flow to ground in the event of an electrical fault. Insulation resistance testing, performed using a Megohmmeter (Megger), measures the resistance of the insulation surrounding wires and components to detect any insulation breakdown, which could lead to electrical shocks or short circuits. For example, a continuity test should show a very low resistance (close to 0 ohms) between the crane's metal frame and the grounding electrode. High resistance implies safety risks.
