What is self-compassion, and how can mindfulness meditation help develop it?

Mindfulness meditation is a powerful tool for developing self-compassion because it helps us cultivate greater awareness of our thoughts and emotions, and allows us to observe them without judgment. When we practice mindfulness, we learn to become more aware of our inner critic - that voice in our heads that tells us we're not good enough, or that we should be doing better. By observing this inner critic with curiosity and compassion, rather than getting caught....
