Once the sterilizer has cooled down and the steam pressure has been safely released, a qualified technician should be called to inspect and repair the leak. The sterilizer should not be used until the leak has been repaired and the sterilizer has been revalidated. Any load being sterilized during the cycle when the leak occurred should be considered non-sterile.
