- You will learn how a car handles when pushed to its limits. You will practice how to keep the car steady during fast turns or emergency stops.
- You will study weight transfer. This is how the weight of the car shifts to the front, back, or sides when you speed up, slow down, or turn. Managing this weight is key to keeping the tires gripped to the road.
- You will learn how to handle skids. You will practice how to feel when the car loses grip and exactly how to steer and brake to get control back quickly.
High-Speed Maneuvers
- You will learn the reverse 180-degree turn. This is a move used to quickly turn a car around while moving backward to escape a dangerous spot.
- You will practice emergency lane changes. This is when you must steer around an obstacle at high speed without losing control of the car or hitting other objects.
- You will learn how to drive fast while keeping the car smooth. Smooth driving is safer and faster because it keeps the car balanced.
Convoy Operations and Formation Driving
Moving as a Team
- You will learn how to space vehicles in a line. You need to keep enough room to react but stay close enough so no one can cut into your group.
- You will learn the roles of each car in the group. The lead car guides the way, the middle car protects the person being moved, and the tail car watches the back for trouble.
- You will learn how to communicate without talking. This includes using hand signals, lights, and set patterns to tell the other drivers what you are about to do.
Securing the Route
- You will learn how to plan a path that has escape options. You always need a way out if the main road is blocked.
- You will learn how to spot dangers early. This includes watching for suspicious people, cars that seem to be following you, or items left on the road.
- You will learn how to react if a car in your group gets a flat tire or has a breakdown during the move. You will practice how to protect that car while keeping the main person safe.
Threat Detection and Reaction
Identifying Danger
- You will learn how to read the environment. You will practice looking for signs that someone is planning to trap your car or block your path.
- You will learn the difference between a normal traffic problem and a planned attack. This helps you decide if you should wait or drive away immediately.
- You will learn how to use your mirrors to see everything around the car at all times. You should never be surprised by a car coming from behind or the side.
Emergency Escape Procedures
- You will learn how to push through a blockade. This is learning how to safely move your car through a gap if someone tries to stop you with their vehicle.
- You will practice "bumping and running." This is a way to safely push a car out of your path if it is blocking your way.
- You will learn how to change your route on the fly. If you find your path is blocked, you will know exactly how to quickly find another way to your goal while keeping the group together.
- You will learn how to keep the person you are protecting safe inside the car during a fight or a fast escape. This means knowing how to keep them low and away from windows.
